Week of May 31, Run 1

Run: 2.0 miles - Pace: 9:40/mi - Week: 2.0 miles - Year: 14.0 miles - 875.56 miles

Not a bad run this morning.  The first mile I ran was right on par with Sat's run, but I didn't feel like pushing much today to get another sub-9:00 second mile.  Have I mentioned I'm doing all these runs with the stroller?

Slight pain in my left knee as I got started, but I'd hardly even consider that minor.

Week of May 24, Run 3

Run: 2.0 miles - Pace: 9:30/mi - Week: 6.0 miles - Year: 12.0 miles - 873.56 miles

Well, I was supposed to run yesterday, but a series of events prevented that from happening.  This morning was a bit cooler, and with an extra day off everything felt great.  8:56 split on the second mile.  Next week I will definitely get in four runs.

Week of May 24, Run 2

Run: 2.0 miles - Pace: 9:41/mi - Week: 4.0 miles - Year: 10.0 miles - 871.56 miles

Not a bad run.  It was a little cooler this morning which helped.  I ran it much faster than Monday, obviously.  Not much to report in terms of pain.  It was just that my calves felt tight as I got started, but once I felt warmed up everything was ok.

Week of May 24, Run 1

Run: 2.0 miles - Pace: 10:23/mi - Week: 2.0 miles - Year: 8.0 miles - Total: 869.56 miles

My legs felt like lead this morning. Perhaps it was the 14 ozs of steak I had for dinner last night. Oh, it was sooooo good. It was mostly the calves at the start, but by the end the tightness had switched to the quads. I really wanted to quit after one mile. Oh well. At least I got it in.

Week of May 17, Run 3

Run: 2.0 miles - Pace: 9:51/mi - Week: 6.0 miles - Year: 6.0 miles - Total: 867.56 miles

Not a bad run this morning, either.  My pace has improved each run (which won't continue), but hopefully that means that after a week I'm already settling into it a bit.  I wanted to run yesterday, but my legs were feeling awful so I didn't even bother.  No sense in pushing anything.

I'm considering throwing my weight up here as well, as for the first time in my life I do actually have a goal of losing a few pounds.  I've never gained weight like I did over the last year, and while I don't actually know how much I weight, I can see the difference.

Next week I'll just shoot for four runs of two miles and see how that goes.  One week at a time.  No plans and no goals except to steadily improve and keep healthy.

Week of May 17, Run 2

Run: 2.0 miles - Pace: 10:05/mi - Week: 4.0 miles - Year: 4.0 miles - Total: 865.56 miles

Not a bad run this morning.  I had to adjust the 2-mile route because while I don't mind ending my run on a somewhat busy street, I had no intention of doing so with Rachel.  Downside was that I ended up adding an extra hill to the route.  :(  I felt really tired after the first mile, but managed to keep things trucking for the second.  I'm still able to maintain negative splits, which is good.  No real pain to report, save some serious coughing when I was done.

Oh, and a little bit of nausea as well.  Before the run I drank a glass of water and another glass of OJ.  I don't think the latter sat in my stomach so well.

Week of May 17, Run 1

Run: 2.0 miles - Pace: 10:15/mi - Week: 2.0 miles - Year: 2.0 miles - Total: 863.56 miles

Well, off to start another year. No goals, just some consistent running. I'll stick with these "easy" 2-mile runs for a bit until they are, in fact, feeling easy. Another change from last year is that most of my runs will be with the stroller, which definitely explains why I only ran at a 10:15/mi pace. *ahem*

Right foot and ankle were quite tender getting going, but weren't so bad in the second mile. My hips also felt a bit odd. Just getting back into things, I suppose.
